How does Tim tip?
I scale all tips on a ranking of 0 to 10 units with increments of 1, all based on a bankroll of 200 units. At my recommended level of risk, one unit should equate to 0.5% of the bankroll (i.e. for a bankroll of $100, one unit would equate to $0.50).
The benefit of such a system is that it allows me to tip based on value. It is common for me to have tips with very high odds at low stakes, which obviously win much less often than tips with higher stakes. While this may skew my win ratio negatively, I have proven to myself with this system that even a win ratio of below 50% can net a large amount of units at an ROI consistently hovering around 10-15%.
Usually on any given day tips will not exceed 10 units risked altogether, but on some days where a lot of markets at good value are offered, this guideline limit may be exceeded.
I realise that lines and odds will change from the time tips are released to when most people can place bets in a reasonable timeframe. In the sake of fairness I record all tips as per the international bookmaker ‘bet365’ as it is easily accessible for everyone worldwide and very well designed. If markets for a tip are not widely available at most bookmakers, I will try and provide alternative bookmakers offering the same or similar markets for specific regions.
When releasing tips, I anticipate the markets should still exist at least up until matches start and the odds should not change drastically in a reasonable timeframe – if they do I will either recommend an alternative bet or advise to not bet.
I am always happy to answer questions regarding my tips!
